TIME OF DEATH (2013 TV Movie) 4 of 10 stars ⭐

BASIC PLOT:

CEO Robert Loring, (played by Nigel Bennett ) is murdered at exactly 10:44pm. There are government contracts, classified projects, an employee that's been recently terminated, and two more who were going to be let go. Are they suspects in his death? Or could it be his son, who will now take over the company? Is this about business, espionage, or is it personal revenge?

FBI agent, Jordan Price (played by Kathleen Robertson ) is assigned a rookie detective, Elliot Larken (played by Gianpaolo Venuta ) to solve the CEO's murder. Will they be able to find the motive behind the killing before anyone else dies?

WHAT WORKS:

*THEY HAVE SEX, SO WHAT? Other reviewers seem to have a problem with the fact that Price & Larkin jump into bed (car) within 36 hours of meeting each other. I don't. The film establishes that they are both young and single. She gains respect for him when she learns he's not as green a detective as she first thought. What's the problem?

WHAT DOESN'T WORK:

*SOME OF THE DIALOG IN THIS MOVIE FALLS A BIT FLAT, seems a bit forced. A few scenes are portrayed in a wooden fashion by the primary actors.

*LAST 10 MIN SUCKS! : I do agree with other reviewers about the last 10 minutes of this movie, IT SUCKS! The message to the writers and producers of movies and TV shows is this, human beings like to see bad guys get what's coming to them. They DON'T LIKE to see avenging angels get taken down before they finish avenging. It is CRYSTAL CLEAR how this movie SHOULD have ended, and why so many reviewers have the same problem with the ending. Real cops call it "public service murders". They don't do to much to solve those kinds of cases, except for the bare minimum, and then let it go cold. Sometimes, bad people need punishment, and wealth and privilege often impedes our justice system. Or as we say in Texas, some people just need killin'. Why are movie makers so afraid of this? Why are there no shades of grey in American entertainment? People are rarely good or bad. We are all something in the middle.

CAMERA WORK IS OFF: Camera work in this movie is distracting! Camera shots move to close-ups for no reason, then go out of focus, then we're overhead looking down at the characters from above, wtf? Also, as others have noted, there are sound problems. These are production\editing issues, not associated with the story\acting, but they do pull your attention out of the movie.

TO RECOMMEND OR NOT TO RECOMMEND, THAT IT THE QUESTION:

This movie is very middle of the road for Made-For-TV fare. There are so many quality Made-For-TV movies, and vintage Movies-of-the-Week out there, there's no need to waste your time on this one, and that's really only because of the last 10 mins.

CLOSING NOTES:

*THIS IS A MADE-FOR-TV MOVIE, please keep that in mind before you watch\rate it. TV movies have a much lower budget, and so your expectations should be adjusted.

*I HAVE NO CONNECTION TO THE FILM, or production in ANY way. I am just an honest viewer, who wishes for more straight forward reviews. Hope I helped you out
